Forklifts are various wheeled transport vehicles used for loading, unloading, stacking, and short distance transportation of palletized goods. They are widely used in ports, stations, airports, freight yards, factory workshops, warehouses, distribution centers, and distribution centers. The upstream of the forklift industry mainly includes the steel industry and the supply of key components such as engines, batteries, motors, electronic controls, hydraulic components, gearboxes, and drive axles. The downstream industries of the forklift industry are widely distributed, mainly including manufacturing, transportation, warehousing, postal administration, wholesale and retail industries.
According to the report "The Panorama Map of China's Forklift Manufacturing Industry in 2022" issued by the Prospective Industry Research Institute, in 2020, the sales volume of China's forklift manufacturing industry will reach 800200 units, with a year-on-year growth of 31.5%, breaking the 800000 unit mark, and the market size will be about 44.7 billion yuan. Among them, the sales proportion of electric forklifts exceeded that of internal combustion forklifts for the first time, reaching 51.3%, reflecting the trend of new energy forklifts replacing internal combustion forklifts. The report points out that with the increasing emphasis on environmental protection by the country, the trend of replacing new energy products is obvious. At the same time, driven by the e-commerce and express logistics industries, the demand for warehousing and logistics is rapidly developing, and the efficient electric forklift market is growing accordingly.
In addition to new energy, intelligence is also an important development direction in the forklift industry. The report analysis suggests that with the continuous progress and application of information technology, intelligent forklifts will improve operational efficiency and safety, reduce labor and maintenance costs, and meet customer personalized needs. At present, some enterprises in China have developed intelligent products such as automated guided vehicle (AGV) and driverless forklift, which have been applied in some scenarios. In the future, intelligent forklifts will demonstrate their advantages in more fields.
